Since 2011, RJI has advocated for and helped to pass 16 anti-human trafficking laws in order to provide justice to the vulnerable.
Who: RJI works with a bipartisan coalition of legislators, advocates and lobbyists. We also partner with the International Justice Mission on a federal level.
What: Together we’ve lobbied and advocated to ensure Virginia laws are prosecuting perpetrators, ending the demand, and identifying and rehabilitating victims, to work towards the end of human trafficking. We’ve advocated on a state level at Virginia’s General Assembly, and on a federal level in partnership with International Justice Mission.
Why: To build a stronger legal framework in order to ensure that justice is possible for the vulnerable.
